These comfortable knotty pine cabins are situated on wooded waterfront
lots on East Grand Lake, the third largest lake in Maine. East Grand is
still relatively undiscovered and is highly prized for it’s uncrowded
conditions, crystal clear water, and pristine undeveloped shoreline. It
is a well known family vacation destination. The warm water in the
summer months is great for swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and
other watersports. It is also one of the nation’s best freshwater
fishing lakes, with a “world class” smallmouth bass fishery as well as
an exceptional cold water fishery for landlocked salmon, lake trout, and
brook trout.

Built in the 50s and 60s, the camps are all fairly spacious, and have
pleasing lake views. They are all located near the waters edge on
"grandfathered" lots which allows them to be expanded significantly (the
addition of walkout basements are even an option in some). They are in
good condition and require nothing major from a maintenance perspective.
Most have painted log siding exteriors and all have traditional
shellacked pine tongue and groove interiors which gives each cabin a
classic Maine touch. Each cabin comes equipped with a full kitchen, a
full length screen porch, a full modern septic system, a lake water
pump, and a new electrical breaker box. All cabins have at least two
bedrooms and an additional set of bunks in the living room, which allows
for sleeping of up to 6 persons. The cabins are also “turn key” in that
they come fully furnished with all appliances, quaint lodge style
furniture, all bedding, and everything you would need to cook (pots,
pans, dishes, silverware, etc.)…just walk in and begin your vacation
next year! Some cabins also have “grandfathered” outbuildings for the
addition of a shop, storage area, or even additional sleeping.

These cabins are located in Weston, Maine, on Davenport Cove, near the
center of the west side of East Grand Lake. With tree cover on three
sides, Davenport Cove is arguably the nicest cove on East Grand Lake.
The sheltered location protects the site from windy conditions and
allows for safe and easy boat docking on floating docks (a large
floating dock section or smaller complete floating dock will be provided
free with each cabin sold).

Highway access is also very easy in that the cabins
are located only 1 1/4 miles off of US Route 1 on predominately paved
roads. This allows for quick access to Danforth, Maine (a small town 3-4
miles to the south) for groceries and supplies, as well as easy access
to Houlton, Maine (a larger city 31 miles to the north) with
considerably more shopping and a regional hospital. Winter access is
also possible in that another local cabin owner routinely plows up to
the cabins, and the town of Weston also plows all but about ¼ mile of
the access road in the winter.

Note that there is also a “buildable lot” available for sale between two
other cabin lots. A “buildable lot” is relatively rare in that it is
“grandfathered” from most of our current zoning regulations. This means
that it has already been cleared of trees on the lake side (view side),
and a new cabin can be built only 25 feet back from the water’s edge
(addition of a new cabin elsewhere would require a 100 foot setback).
Further details on the camps can be found with the sale prices in the
table below:
Asking prices for the cabins range from $145,500 to $312,500. Serious
inquiries only please. More cabin photos are available for each
individual cabin as requested.
